This is the first time that I’m going to volunteer for 11 years. I’m going to sort books for a shrift store. I am a little nervous. I haven’t worked in 9 or 10 years which is a similar situation. The only difference is you get paid. At the same time this is a big step for me, so I am looking forward to it. Wish me luck.
Good luck. Hope all goes well.
Good luck, I used to volunteer for my cv in a hospital helping the elderly. They gave me free parking, free lunch and a recognition/recommendation certificate. That was before sz though, now I dont think I can volunteer, at least not on my current meds. Maybe on future meds when they reach here.
Good luck @Jake. Just remember that you’re under no obligation, so if you need to slow down or take breaks, then feel free to do that. They know you’re essentially free labor of sorts, so they’re not going to look to making your life difficult as long as you remain respectful.
It’s good you feel like you’re at a place where you can get out and do this kind of thing. I’m not ready - I’m still shellshocked by my last psychotic episode.
I’ve thought about volunteering for a literacy program and maybe tutoring people to take the GED. I’ve always did well on the standardized tests, and I think I could help people take standardized tests.
Good luck. I’ve found volunteering to be very good for me and my lifestyle.
I hope you enjoy volunteering @Jake
This is so inspiring. I would love to try volunteer work. I stopped working last year and don’t think I’m ready for volunteering but when I do, I can do something similar.
Good luck.
I’m thinking about volunteering in a hospital post-covid. But not yet sure.
Good luck, buddy.
I wish i could volunteer too
Good luck @Jake
