I"ve been re-diagnosed as Schizoaffective Depressive((thanks to 7 hospitalizations with suicdal thoughts and voices)Schizophrenia and Depression Hybrid sarcastic yaaaay!))(originally I was Paranoid Schizophrenic) and I’ve been on Invega Sustenna for a year. I have talked with my psychiatrist at the Cleveland Clinic about my symptoms(I got stressed out before I was supposed to start work and I started to hear voices telling me to burn the house down, kill my mom, and stab my dog) and I asked if I could start Invega Trinza. He said he was comfortable prescribing that since I’ve been stable on it for a long time even though I had the psychotic break a couple of days ago(before work)( he said it was discouraging). I have to get the labs done, but I’m due for my first injection of Invega Trinza in late October. I’ve been doing well in my two online classes(Intro to Philosophy A and Intro to Humanities B). I"m really excited about starting this new medication since it lasts 3 months instead of 1 month with Invega Sustenna. Yaaaaaay!
Good luck to you! Invega is one of the few atypical APs that I have never been tried on. I do pretty well with the Abilify Maintena shot, though, so there is no need for me to try Invega. I hope it works out well for you!
I was on Risperdal when I first got diagnosed and if you were talking to me I would suddenly fall asleep. It was that sedating and I heard this every morning It’s a perfect time to kill people. So I don’t like Risperdal that much even though that’s what Invega Trinza is.
Going on Sustenna or Trinza would ruin the purpose for me. I would still go to the pharmacy just as often as I take 9 other drugs. I have no trouble taking it orally either.
This is like a 7000 dollar drug. I hope you can afford it or have good insurance coverage. I personally would avoid being on the most expensive ap out there.
I have medicaid and they cover my prescription drugs. They covered my Invega Sustenna at the highest dose which was about $3000. So I don’t see why they wouldn’t cover Invega Trinza.
