In the winter, the car is a burden more than an aid. So, I’ve decided to let it sit out the winter.
Thats pretty neat you can do that- sit out winter! What if cabin fever? Where food coming from? I don’t like driving in snow either.
We don’t drive even if there is a dusting of snow on the ground.
Don’t want to chance it.
I live in adult foster care so I am well taken care of.
That’s great @PinCushion i hope you have no worries there. I wanted to live in a Veterans home but never did. No snow there though. I was to young to stay there for the rest of my life.
The older I get, the more I am aware that I have fewer worries than many people.
I gave up driving for a lifetime 4 and a half years ago to never look back. One of the best decisions I’ve ever made.
I do not have a car and so I do not drive a car. I have a bicycle, but I decided to keep it in the storage room over this winter, so I do not ride my bicycle either. Bicycle paths are too frozen and it can be dangerous to ride the bicycle.
How do you carry your groceries?
How old are you @PinCushion ?
I’m 75. 1515151515
I have my backpack.
I wish sometimes that I could give up driving. Just not feasible at least until all my kids have their licenses. Likely I’ll won’t give up until I’m much older or dead.
I’m 75. I figure I’m old enough to quit.
My mom quit at 70. Now my dad does all the driving. He’s 88 and drives very well.
I am thinking about buying an ev van if I get this job. It will be a bit more expensive, but I think I can make up for it in the long run.
