I'm getting feeble

I forgot the comedian Robin Williams’ last name, and I couldn’t recall it. I couldn’t think of it until someone else on this site referred to him. I’m forgetting a lot of basic stuff like that. The doctor gave me some memory pills, but they seemed to make me worse. Both my parents died of brain diseases with the same symptoms as Alzheimer’s, but with different underlying causal mechanisms. Maybe I’m succumbing to that. If that’s what’s happening I hope it doesn’t take a long time.

I’m sorry to hear that @crimby . Hopefully your suspicions are wrong. Forgetting someones last name isnt the end of the world though. I sometimes forget names and have to struggle with them.

For example, to test my memory, I just went through some celebrities in my head and after about a dozen last names I COULD remember, I couldn’t come up with Tim Curry’s last name without looking on the internet. Sometimes things slip our minds.

Wishing you luck.

I guess as long as I don’t forget my own last name I’m okay, but that might not be too far off.

‘It’s on the tip of my tongue’ occurs more frequently with me than it used to. I eventually get it, but perhaps a little slower than I would have done in my 40s. I put this down to normal ageing as I still do quite well on high range IQ tests ,and my reaction time standard deviation is good for my age.

I always forget Robin Williams name. I can’t recall anything.

What’s the name of the pills?

"Mem … " something or other.

Mematine? If so, that is prescribed for moderate to severe dementia, not mild memory loss or cognitive problems.

I don’t know. I don’t have the bottle with me.
