@anon97118089, it is not absolutely certain that you have schizophrenia, but I think you might have some mental illness.

I have Schizophrenia, complete with hostile brainwashing, hallucinations, delusions, psychosis, cognitive

problems, sleep disruptions. And a miserable prodrome. " The entire package".

I choose not to take medications, because I believe I will be worse off on them.

It is quite possible to have schizophrenia or another, milder disorder , choose not to take medications because
they reduce your level of energy in a horrible way, and adversely affect your heart and weight,

and still be here.

I would prefer not to be here, but I suffer from a mental handicap(possibly my schizophrenia) that forces me now to be here , instead of , for example, solving a puzzle.

I did manage to exercise for several hours today at the health club, and go to the sauna there.

If you don’t take meds and you’re not hospitalized you have a very mild case of schizophrenia.

It’s a chronic disease and most of us need our meds to survive outside of mental institutions. I have tried going med free a few times. It’s just not possible.

@Tomcat, I have SEVERE schizophrenia. It is SEVERE.
If I get cured my situation will improve a great deal.

I am not going to argue with you. Without meds most schizophrenics would be in a straight jacket in a rubber room. Certainly incapable of using the internet but nonetheless I hope you find your cure.

@TomCat that is why i wonder if i have SZ cause i think im going to be fine once ive stopped taking the meds !!

I was never that bad before i feel like ive made this illness up in my head or something

Or i have a very mild form of SZ

That or you just haven’t relapsed yet. I hope you continue to stay well.

@Tomcat I do not agree that most patients would be in a psychiatric hospital,
unless they are forcibly hospitalized.
I believe most patients have a better chance of recovery off meds,
and the longer they are on meds, the worse are their prospects of recovery.

That said, schizophrenia itself is a severe disorder, and enough to knock most people off the path of life
even off meds.

I could flag you for saying this, but i’m doing better on meds

Why do you think they used to have asylums and they don’t have them anymore?

It was the discovery of antipsychotics that made that transition possible.

If I stop taking my meds I can guarantee you I will be in a hospital where they will give me more meds so that eventually I can get back out. My wife won’t come visit me in the hospital anymore if I try stopping meds. She says I should have learned my lesson and I guess I did.

I haven’t been hospitalized in 6 years now and that’s thanks to meds. I still get suicidal a few times a year but I just deal with it alone. If I felt unsafe I would check myself in

@anon51414962 , you could flag me, but I am trying to be helpful to people.
Mine is a legitimate view, I am not the only person in the world that claims that meds worsen your chances
of recovery, and I am completely independent:
I am a schizophrenic myself, and on the other hand I am not paid and do not receive any benefits from interest groups.

That said, I repeat: Schizophrenia itself is a very severe disorder, and it is very difficult to recover even off meds. It does you great harm even off meds.
