I never really liked theaters and usually waited for things to come out on video.
Streaming, not video, but you know.
I can’t really think of any iconic movies I saw in the theater,
Ones that I thought were iconic anyway.
Star Wars
Close Encounter of the Third Kind
Jaws
Jurassic Park, The Lion King (which was groundbreaking for the animation world), Finding Nemo…Can’t think of any other iconic ones, I don’t typically go to the theatre.
I also saw The Lion King in theaters as a kid.
Oh, and Apollo 13.
Napoleon Dynamite,
Sorry if you don’t think it’s iconic, but it is.
My mom lived close to a drive in and saw all the good 70/80s movies there.

I was in theatres a lot up until home video became a thing, at which point I probably quit on 95% of movies played in them. Have only been to a theatre once since streaming became common.
All three LOTR movies. Quite a few of the Harry potters and I’m not sure if I saw it in theaters or if it just had a huge impact on me but the first Matrix movie. Anyway that one blew my mind when I was little.
Oh Avatar and district 9 as well.
Dr. Zhivago. I was obsessed with it and saw it a couple times and walked all the way home from downtown, to the suburbs at night after seeing it when I was around 10.
Finding Nemo
Shrek 2
IT Chapter 2
Joker
Avengers Endgame

Rambo (First Blood) was the first movie I saw in theater…
It was fascinating for a kid.
