I Wonder Why Some Posters Say "Hi" and Then Disappear, While Others Stay For Years

I usually say ‘Welcome’ to the new posters. They might just be the one out of a hundred who stick around these parts.

I wonder though, why some stay with this forum but many don’t.

A lot of people lurk. So they take a while to engage with the community but I’m sure some check in. Probably not as frequently as with the regulars which you see.

I go to a political forum and a music forum as well…but not for the last number of months.

I’ve been low-keying the social media because of my affliction.

Before I found this forum, I thought my psychosis was exclusive to me. I had no idea others experienced similar episodes like mine.

I didn’t acknowledge my diagnosis till I came to this forum.

I then eventually understood that what I experienced was positive symptoms.

I don’t have much social life as such and get it mostly from forum and family.

I have been stable since I met my x in sa.

I never used to tell my psychiatrist my symptoms because I was scared of what medication they would forse me to go on.

In Sweden when I had voices, gunshots and mones 24/7 I lied to my dr and said I wasn’t hearing voices when she asked.

I was scared what medication she could forse upon me or if she hospitalised me.

I wasn’t coping.

Somehow years later the voices stopped then delusions came instead.

Been good lately.

I don’t have friends as such not to socialise with as such anyway or even to chat with so it’s nice to come here for support and socialising etc

I was under two other usernames but had a break from forum a while.

I came back.

You have a kind way about you. I figured you’d have a ton of friends in real life.

It’s tougher to connect with people as we get older I suppose. People already have their own ‘friend sets’.

I have a few close buddies but I’m mainly a low-key family guy these days.

It’s been awhile since I’ve been back. I pop in once in awhile. Usually when things are going bad for me.
