I wonder if it is worth reducing meds

The last pdoc I saw said I should remain on 15mg. But the one I saw before that said I could bring down the dose after spring. Well , it is well past after spring and I want to reduce it as per the previous psychiatrist suggestion but the new pdoc says no.

Why does the new pdoc say no, do you know? Did he explain

He just said it is working. This is the problem with having a new pdoc everytime I visit them. I wish the pdocs would stick around and not leave.

What are you missing out on?

Maybe you can mention your previous doc’s opinion and that you would like to try, but that you are prepared to go back up on the dose if you experience signs of relapse.

Are you having side effects from that dose? If not, maybe you should stick with it since it’s working.

If its working and you arent having adverse side effects, you should probably stick with it. A lot of people want to reduce the dosage once they start feeling better, but its the meds that are doing it. So reducing it brings the risk of a relapse of symptoms.

Is it worth the risk if you’re stable?

Seems risky.

Whenever I have reduced meds out of a thought I could lower the dose it has not ended well for me at all
