This is not a popular view for new parents, but for me, it seems like man is on his way out.

I don’t think people are any worse than they were in our history. There are plenty of examples of atrocious people in history. The problem is technology is both creating problems and solutions. Nukes, pollution, chemical and biological weapons, global warming, etc…all probably do to advances in technology. We have the capacity to destroy ourselves(or in some cases just a good portion of the people), either slowly or quickly. I hope that technology will eventually solve these problems as well before things get too bad. IDK though.

I think the present is pretty awful - I hope I am not around for the future.
People are always saying the world is going to end, and there are a lot of things man made and not man made that could get us. Hopefully technology will advance enough soon enough for us to avoid any major catastrophes.

Yeah, it’s hard to know. But @crimby 's right. The end is constantly foretold by people and they have not been right yet. People could be around for a very long time or the end could come tomorrow. Who knows? The future is uncertain.
I’m betting I’ll be dead before that time comes though, so I’m not likely to see it.
