Lol like, a friend that’s a girl that I can hang out with.
Or a guy?
I used to have a close relationship with a gal, we would skype often, chatted everyday, it was nice, but she went back to drinking and was hard to deal with, still love her but had to stop talking to her after several years of friendship
So find one!
What’s the problem?
me 2 id like a sza girlfriend
That’s too bad, makes me sad!
I mean… How do you go about finding a SZ friend? There’s no support groups or whatever you call them around me to meet people… Is there other ways? Lol
There were a couple of support groups for Schizophrenia and mental illness in my area. I went to them. No girlfriend though.
I’d really like a Sz girlfriend too.
There’s a Bipolar Support Group that I’ve started going to, but to be honest the members there all seemed to be high functioning.
I couldn’t relate at all.
I will give you advice.
First, if there is a psychiatric hospital in your area, you can ask about outpatients, who are not there permanently but
visit.
second you go to psychiatrists and ask about their clients . Further, perhaps there is an association for the mentally ill
that is active in your area. Through this association you can find appropriate people…
This is what comes to my head now.
Damn lol yeah I prolly wouldn’t end up having much luck either
Yeah, I know what you mean. I just googled support groups in my area and all there is is bipolar… I wouldn’t go to that. Don’t think I could relate, like you said you couldn’t
there was a girl with sz and it was wonderful. I followed her around like a dog that needs water. But she had a drug problem and would go for guys that would give her drugs. Her Dad is working on getting her off drugs. I would be happy to spend the rest of my life with her but she’s not here for me. It’s nice to be with somebody you can be honest with and understanding.
You guys are all the sz/sza friends I need. Hell, you’re all the friends I have period lol
I have a girlfriend who has schizophrenia, and she’s the love of my life. I met her 5 years ago at a ‘drop-in center.’ (a respite for people with a mental illness to socialize). Due to budget cuts it no longer exists.
I recommend going to NAMI meetings on a weekly basis. Get there a little early and leave a little late. Don’t be afraid to let it be known that you’re single and looking to date.
but yes, it would be nice to have someone to be honest with and who would understand
Awwww!! Happy to hear!
And thanks for the advice
(I mean not that I’m really looking to date, more friends)
You can try schizophrenia support groups on meetup.
I would like some irl sz friends too
I’m not familiar with this dating website, but it may be something worth looking into:
Oh yeah, meetup!
Good suggestion!
