See a DR. Do you have normal menstrual periods? Normal scalp hair? Acne? Obese? Diabetic? On any meds or birth control? Abnormal body hair? Facial hair since what age? Family with same thing? Those are are some of the questions that your physician would ask you.
First check if your hormones are normal. Shaving, waxing, laser and plucking are all useful. Removing hair does not make it grow any thicker. Removing hair does not make it grow faster.
Waxing, threading, electrolysis, laser hair removal, depliatory creams and a medication called Vaniqa are some of the ways to remove facial hair.
I slept on this before responding. I think the only woman I had “the power” to offend is @Loke… she’s the most vulnerable here bc she offers a real life photo of herself in her avatar.
We don’t get enough feedback, and we tend to internalize info we do have access to. That’s why my utterings were ultimately misguided.
Going forward, I will try to live down my “male persona”. I know this isn’t a dating site so it’s probably something I can easily do. (I even joined nolongerlonely once after learning from this site, but it was too sparsely populated to help me!)
I know where your coming from. I get random Long, thick hairs that grow on my chin and out of a mole on my face. The hair above my top lip I also don’t like. It isn’t exactly moustache land but it is hairier than I’m happy with. I tweezer out the thick hairs but I’d like to get laser done so the don’t keep coming back. I think the hair problem gets worse as you get older as I don’t remember having these hairs in my early 20’s.
I was out yesterday all day. Then I came home and watched Rocky II. So I really wasn’t online much yesterday. Don’t take stuff like that personally. I may read posts but not reply. Sometimes it’s bc I don’t know what to say
I was just in a mood and jumped the gun @anon64158233. As a woman I hear too many men and women get worried about their looks in one way or another. I came off snarky and I’m sorry for taking annoyances out on you.
Thanks for that! I am trying to cultivate a good reputation… I’m currently tapering off Haldol and adding Abilify. One thing for sure is I’m writing more… I’ve always been expressive but at the same time I possess paranoia. It’s a push and pull.
No problem @anon64158233! I’m trying to make myself a better person, which means apologizingn when I’ve been mean for no real reason.
Writing? As in book or stories? I’m an author and freelance writer/editor. If you need any tips on getting published or anything, I love helping new writers. I type on a phone so ignore my typos, I write a lot better on the laptop.
Funny - I do have a blog with about 70 published entries. But in this case I simply meant contributing to this website. I looked into writing for an online mental health magazine called Healthy Place, but they insist you do monthly videos. That made me uncomfortable due to the Flat/Blunted Affect I have. Plus I don’t have the tech savvy for videos.
But yeah I love writing and I have a good long term memory which helps me. It even helps with vocabulary I think! Pretty cool that we have this in common. How established are you exactly? Does it pay the bills? I only ask bc not too many people see my blog… it’s a challenging endeavor!
I have two dark, thick patches of hair on my chin. I shave it off but it grows back by nighttime. I get really embarrassed about it. I’m attempting to get rid of it with laser hair removal but so far it isn’t helping.
Yeah. I understand. I don’t know if it’s the meds or age. I’m 42. Not that old so idk I’ve had a mustache since like I was in high school. You’re in my thoughts.
