I can’t write fiction without an internal monologue. You need thoughts to be a writer.
I also don’t have an internal monologue most of the time. It was the hardest but of schizophrenia for me to get used to

You know, that could be helpful. It’s hard to carry on a polite conversation with someone while in your head you’re busy calling them every name your mother washed your mouth out for and you’re mentally smacking them around with an overly ripe trout.

I wrote a letter to my cousin last night. A snail mail letter. Anyone with an eighth grade education can write a letter .
I write a rough draft and read it aloud and make changes. Then I rewrite it once or twice changing a lot of it or reframing it. It’s enjoyable.
