I’ve been referred to a peer support specialist but

She’s on medical leave and they’re not sure for how long. I wonder if it’s her mental health. I hope she’s ok.

I think a peer support specialist is someone that can offer a services to other people with schizophrenia I don’t really know what you end up doing something along the lines of being like a social worker but a light version of it

You’re good at understanding people’s issues and giving information so I think you’d be good at it

They are someone diagnosed with a mental illness who has gone through treatment and had decent recovery. They then help others who are ill by being supportive and also helping link them to resources that can help them, including info about NAMI and food banks, disability, etc.

I hope you achieve your goal

I’m glad to know about this. I’m going to look into what’s available to me in my area or with the va.
