On top of autism if they diagnose it, I think I may have ADHD. Yesterday I was told I need to do 20 bookings an hour. I have been 20 in 5. I just cannot focus, and struggling to pay attention, this isn’t for me. When my partner talks to me, I tend to zone out after a minute, this is not because he is boring but because I can’t pay attention to long conversations or even books for that matter.

Probably not best to diagnose yourself but it can be other things as well. It’s not unusual for sz to have concentration problems for example but get with the treatment team and have a chat. I’d imagine things used to treat adhd which usually are stimulants would be bad for you from your last psychosis for example.

Thank you. I’m just reaching a point where I’m having to consider giving up on admin and finding something else, cos I’m just not doing well in these jobs. I’m also struggling in the social aspects of the job. I gonna contact my gp for some time off.

We have sickness allowance over here. It really helped me in similar situations before the meds when I needed some mental health time. It’s worth a chat but it can be complicated enough with simple dxes too.

Unfortunately my job won’t give me sick pay cos I’m a contractor. but I do get sick from the government.

ADHD and Autism are often diagnosed side by side I think if you have concerns about it, it would be good to bring up with your pdoc

I don’t know if the diagnosis matters I’m just fed up of trying to make this work for me because I keep on failing at it. I am thinking I should apply for enhanced rate and do some voluntary work so there’s not much stress.

Ha! I had an assessment the other month from a clinical psychologist - and ive been diagnosed with autism on top of the schizophrenia lol. My Daughters Autistic, maybe it runs in my genes.
Dont 100% agree with it mind you - but it explains alot of things like i need stuff done a certain way.
Frankly they can throw whatever labels at me - so long as i get my benefits, i dont really care

Really @Naarai a clinical psychologist. My clinical psychologist did a brief test on me and is sending me for an assessment with a specialist which might take a while… im trying to be patient.

Fair enough, but I feel I need it to get extra support especially during interviews and accommodations at work… and even to help me get enhanced rate if I need it at some point. Sorry, I know that sounds really bad, but I really need the help.

You mean enhanced rate PIP? You should already get it if your Sz. I do. I don’t get the mobility component mind you, cos my legs work lol.

That’s what crossed my mind, but I can’t say for certain. I’m not overly keen on the Youtube autistic people.
