Yesterday I started to realize I’m making some healthy progress toward better mental health.
This is pretty big news for me. I almost never think anything is going well. For right now I’m cautiously allowing myself to think things are getting better. It feels good.
Now I know tomorrow I may wake up feeling differently but for today I just wanted to recognize this change in me.
I’ve been in a DBT group for about 10 months now over a period of 2 years. It turned out to be a really good decision for me.
I find that i can manage best when i stay home a lot in my comfort zone. Do you push yourself to do things out of your comfort ? What do you find helps?
I think therapy is helping me change the way I think about things and DBT is teaching me skills to help manage.
My comfort zone helps me a lot, but I think the progress that I’ve made is allowing it to grow. I may be outgrowing my current comfort zone a little, but I’ve only just started to feel things change, so we’ll see what happens.
To answer your question, I almost never push myself out of my comfort zone, but I’m hoping to be able to.
