I suspect I have borderline or ADHD

How to talk about it to my doc

Get a hobby or another interest. It’s hard with our dx but you live and learn. You’ve obvious issues and they don’t give you the meds if your not needing them for most of the populace. I don’t think your too much different.

By all means bring it up. It may be revealing and most probably not. It’s not a bad thing to be involved in your treatment but you’ve a history where your not believing the obvious around here. Thus the advice.

I wouldn’t bring up your suspicions of diagnoses.

Just talk about your symptoms. Then they can diagnose you if they deem it appropriate.

Why if I may ask?

Docs don’t like it when you play doctor Google and push them to diagnose you.

I don’t push anyone
It’s just a ssuspicion of mine

That’s enough for some docs to call it pushing.

Don’t self-diagnose.

Suspicion is not selfdiagnosis but ok

You think you have borderline in addition sz? I would speak to your pdoc. There’s dbt for borderline and other meds for adhd.

What makes you suspect borderline?

And adhd?

Write a list and bring it up at the doctors,

They may be able to provide guidance on that.

Let’s hope not.
It’s very difficult to treat personality disorders

Try not to diagnose yourself
Leave it up to your doctors

someone i know was misdiagnosed as having borderline in the past, if they had known they had schizophrenia the treatment would have been different. the advantage of AP’s is a life saver. I think psychosis feels like a personality disorder because it causes a disconnect in the thoughts. stay strong. it is true if u self-diagnose to a professional or ask for specific meds it makes the professionals think ur “pushing” or have naïve awareness of your condition. I would suggest telling your doctor why you think you have borderline first, maybe there is something they can add for the anxiety or stress. DBT and other forms of CBT can be helpful at learning coping skills.
