does sound like mania. does ur doctor think u get mania?
No he said its sz. Also I tried to kill myself twice during first psychosis. I never thought sz can make me suicidal, i thought its depression but they said its not depression maybe shitty drs
Some doctors don’t know much about certain mental illnesses like bipolar a lot of them read the DSM and think they know everything however nobody here can diagnose you but getting a second opinion might help loads
I am not too worried as the treatment is the same as sz and I don’t have any symptoms now on risperidone
My suggestion is if it ain’t broken don’t fix it unless your having symptoms it doesn’t matter what the diagnosis is as long as your happy
Yes I read APs like risperidone are the most effective for mania even more effective than mood stabilizers like lithium
If you want my unfiltered opinion I suspect you do have some mania based on what you’ve said many times before however I’m not a psychiatrist
Yeah Zyprexa helped my mood more than lamictal does but I’m now on haldol and lamictal risperidol did nothing for me
I think too much caffeine makes me feel hypomanic, I get racing thoughts and talk a lot, people say I talk a lot.
Zyprexa was a sugar pill for me, didn’t help at all with sz or sza. All it did is making me gain lots of weight. I also had insomnia on it.
Yeah coffee makes some people with mania worse be careful too too much coffee can cause heart problems
That was my experience with risperidol funny how different meds work for different people
When it didn’t work the Dr wanted me on Clozapine. I said no and that I want risperidone which worked perfectly. I tried Abilify, Latuda, Zyprexa, Risperidone and low dose Seroquel
I have a question for you do you think some of your “negative symptoms” could be depressive episodes I’m not a doctor but some meds can help bipolar depression
Idk but I wish it is. I tried Wellbutrin but it made me angry and didn’t help negative symptoms at all. I asked my gp and pdoc for serotonin ADs, they refused prescribing them and said I don’t have depression. Its pretty hard to get another pdoc. 1-2yrs ago I requested a new pdoc and had to wait 8 months to get one. She told me only Clozapine can help my negative symptoms. I did the heart tests and she gave me blood test paper as these are required for Clozapine. I changed my mind and told her I don’t want the Clozapine. She got mad at me and told me to go back see my old pdoc, she didn’t want to see me again
I don’t have a pdoc since 2021
Once I took 5htp which increases serotonin I felt good for a few hrs. Now it does nothing. Same for ldopa it does nothing for me now. Idk why, my dr said these lose efficacy with time and the body get used to them
Honestly I think the 5htp made me hypomanic thats why i felt better. I think serotonin ADs can make me hypomanic, idk maybe thats why my drs don’t want to prescribe them
Wow that’s messed up really messed up that wasn’t a good doctor then
