I smoke and vape too much

I smoke and vape until I make myself sick. I’m getting 5 ml of 18mg/ml of vape a day and I smoke several cigarettes. Sometimes I’ve thrown up, and I’m pretty sure it’s from the vaping/smoking. I don’t know why I do this to myself. It’s like I think smoking/vaping will cure all my problems. Every time I’m the least bit nervous I reach for my vape/cigarette. I don’t know if I have the will to cut back.

Combining vaping and cigarettes will lead to an overdose of nicotine.

Might I suggest you work on feeling when you’re “full” on nicotine from the vape?

Yes you can get “nic sick” from too much nicotine. You need to find another way to calm down.

I quit my Lexapro because it made me a zombie and I thought I was okay because I’m not having panic attacks. I looked up my Wellbutrin and I guess it doesn’t do much for anxiety. I’m afraid to go on another SSRI though because I don’t want to be a zombie again. Maybe I need to find a natural supplement for anxiety since I apparently still have a little bit of it even though it’s not that bad.

How long did you take your lexapro?
I don’t know much about that particular medicine, but I know that sometimes the effects are worse for the first 6 weeks or so, and then the sideeffects taper off

I took Lexapro for several months before I quit it. It just got rid of my emotions entirely, I’m much more animated off of it my husband tells me. I am going to research natural “cures” for anxiety and see what I can come up with.

I use L-theanine, it certainly takes the edge off.

Edit: almost all the other natural herbs etc for anxiety have nasty side effects. At least that’s what I remember from my research.

I’m looking into l-theanine now. I don’t have any positive symptoms on meds so I never thought to take it.

Has anyone here tried passionflower?

Nasty side effects like I said.

From webmd:

Passionflower is LIKELY SAFE for most people when taken by mouth in amounts normally found in food. It is POSSIBLY SAFE when taken short-term (less than two months) as medicine or tea. It is POSSIBLY UNSAFE when taken by mouth in large amounts.

Passionflower can cause some side effects such as dizziness, confusion, irregular muscle action and coordination, altered consciousness, and inflamed blood vessels. There has also been a report of nausea, vomiting, drowsiness, a rapid heart rate, and abnormal heart rhythm in one person who took it.

There isn’t enough information to rate the safety of passionflower when applied to the skin.
Special Precautions & Warnings:

Pregnancy and breast-feeding: Don’t take passionflower if you are pregnant. It is UNSAFE. There are some chemicals in passionflower that might cause the uterus to contract.

Not enough is known about the safety of taking passionflower during breast-feeding. Stay on the safe side and don’t use it.

Surgery: Passionflower can affect the central nervous system. It might increase the effects of anesthesia and other medications on the brain during and after surgery. Stop taking passionflower at least 2 weeks before a scheduled surgery.

Okay, you convinced me. I’ll try the l-theanine. The only thing bad about it I could find was it possibly reducing serotonin levels.

I just don’t think my anxiety is bad enough to add another medication. On another note, you’d think my Wellbutrin would make me want to smoke less.

That’s some serious vapor and cigs on top of that ain’t a good idea. I vape about the same as you without the cigs. Slice out those cigs and your gtg

Switch to nicotin gum 4 mg…follow the 12 week period program of cutting down on the 12th week to no nicotine…worked like a charm for me. good luck…
