My second college roommate had assigned himself the nickname “soulless ghoul” I was shocked by such a cynical view at an early age (20). He was attracted to Freud’s school of thought. He mocked religion and spirituality. He also said stuff like “jogging shortens your lifespan” or “women who don’t want children are far less attractive to men”. Quite a strange fellow. A bright computer engineer, but strange in other respects.
