They go hand in hand. On paper, I should have been dead many times over 35 years ago. But instead I block all that out and somehow I managed to be a park ranger and unloading trucks in my thirties competing against a bunch of teenagers and twenty-somethings and outworking most of them. If I faced reality, I would never leave my house. My life is the impossible dream. But I’ve had many, many great experiences, lots of fun, and lots of laughs.
Hmmm, on second thought maybe I’m actually facing reality.
I have thought, if I could do it over, I would be a park ranger.
Ranger Nick - cool!
Lol, I hate to wreck your dream but being a park ranger involved a lot of emptying garbage cans and cleaning restrooms. Often it meant just sitting in a little room doing nothing for hours but staring at people walking by and making sure dogs were on leashes. It was kind of cool wearing a cool uniform and driving the company pick-up truck around various parks but even that could get a little boring.
Yeah, and probably you get the terrible situation with the pit toilets and 102 degree temps, and the illegal pot farms.
But it’s my fantasy, damnit! I want to get paid to drink coffee and look at trees.
@77nick77 is from California—this would be more the California ranger style.
I am from Cali too
Land of pot, gangbangers, brunch, and liberalism.
