I only have 3 more days left of this job but I have to leave it and I’m scared i won’t find something else. i have to leave because my brain is not functioning at all as it should, mentally, emotionally, and tired all the time i can’t think straight. I don’t want to use this agency again but I am also scared i won’t find something for a long time. mainly because this is a mental health clinic and I am just not in the right frame of mind to be in this enviroment it is really affecting me a lot…
Just be thankful it in fact wasn’t a 3 month contract with a months notice. Your commute sounds horrible also. Just 3 days and then you’re out.
You’ll have no problems finding something else.
Register with a good few agencies (like 50 or so), then the phone will be ringing off the hook.
maybe you need a break
Hang in there it is only three more days to go. Three days go past very fast. When you wink it’s over and you can go on with your life. You’ve got a good reputation and hanging in there for the next three days will retain your reputation. Just do it and hang in there…in three days from now we’re going to congratulate you for achieving the unthinkable.
Does the agency know you have sz?
Do you think that is why they placed you where they did (thinking it was a good fit)?
Did you take an aptitude or personality test, either on paper or on the computer, when you signed up with that agency?
If you’ll answer these questions, we might be able to move towards a “better” solution.
No they don’t know i have sz. I don’t tell straight away most the time.
@Daisy79 Need this third Q answered. I would look to see if it’s the sz that’s telling you that your colleagues are reading this forum. That’s exactly what sz does, ya know.
There was no test whatsoever. thats why i thought this was dodgy. because i went to work the day after i signed up… but some say its legit.
Yeah I know. Its paranoia. And its the first time I’ve had it in 5 years.
Sounds like the stress of the job is bringing on the paranoia.
What’s the agency’s name? And how did you find it?
I’m asking because there are outfits out there that prey upon the mentally ill for various reasons (e.g. Scientology fronts, religious cults). I know that may sound paranoid, but I can easily prove this with articles from major newspapers and magazines.
You might want to 1) get your list of skills down pat, and 2) go online and look for other temp agencies, of course.
I didn’t find them they found me… i don’t remember applying with them at all. But the job is in mental health NHS so I know the job is legit but not sure about the agency.
I feel that the people there know what I’m thinking so I am so anxious.
How? 15 15 15 15
I put my CV up in job sites where employers can look you up.
Science has thus far proven that mind-reading per se is not (yet) possible.
I know that. But I can’t stop feeling that way.
Yup. That’s the way the cults find the marks. Legit temp agencies are too busy dealing with all the people who come to their websites to be out looking at other people’s.
It’s a #s game. Go in person. Show your face. You’ll get somewhere.
I understand. I can’t either. But I use the mindfulness skills I have learned to stare the feelings down (sort of) until they’re just feelings over there.
I guess tomorrow, on my day off, I am going to the Doc and signing myself off sick…I’m really experienced I will find something sooner or later…
