I took up cooking as a teen but dropped it when I went to college. Now I feel like I can’t cook and even worry about being spastic and burning myself accidentally. I do have a hard time relaxing in the kitchen.
You can do it! Start with something easy like pasta. Boil your pasta, heat up your favorite sauce (we say gravy 'round here ), drain your pasta, toss pasta with sauce, maybe throw in some cheese chunks or grated cheese, maybe some roasted peppers or leftover veg, serve with some garlic bread or maybe Texas Toast, and you’ve got a meal! Salad optional. I know this one’s easy coz I taught it to my Brother and he can’t cook ANYTHING. Try not to look at it as a big deal. Every meal doesn’t have to be shrimp Alfredo. Easy is A-Ok.
You can download a million recipes off the internet. From easy, three - ingredient lunches or dinners to more involved recipes. Anything from easy omelets or pancakes to grilled cheese sandwiches. Cooking is pretty basic; you just read the recipe: it tells you everything; it tells you the ingredients, how much of them you need and in what order to do everything. That’s all you need.
And once you find recipes you like and can do, you can make them over and over again so it’s second nature and easy.
