Now that I’m getting out a bit on my own, I’ve decided to see about volunteering. I’m not quite ready to work. So I just emailed the hospital that’s only 2 blocks away from my house about available volunteering opportunities. It’ll let me see if I can regularly be somewhere and if my paranoia does or doesn’t get in the way of being around people for good chunks of time. I’m quite nervous. But I want to try. I’ll get a feel for the atmosphere when I talk to the people in charge of volunteers.
I think thats a wonderful idea! And it sounds like you have a good plan in place. Volunteering is a great way to see if youre ready to work.
Thanks @Pickpink . Hopefully I’m ready and I like it.
Good luck, hope it works out for you
Thanks @Dizzy 15
wow…yayy…glad you want to do better…that is a very big step.
I applied a couple of months ago to volunteer in a university hospital here. But I got refused because I mentioned I was sensitive to stress. I didn’t even mention sz. They are really demanding in my hometown.
That’s great news. I hope it goes well @LilyoftheValley.
Which job were you hoping to do as a volunteer at the hospital @Jonathan2 ? There are many jobs one can do. I’m surprised they couldn’t find one that was lower stress for you. Maybe there weren’t any openings in the lower stress volunteer jobs?
Thanks @jukebox @HollyHobby
It was to help with the reception of people.
They didn’t think I was suited for a hospital environment
