This is really the best way to go. It is not easy to stay home and do nothing. Some people think it sounds great, but it can be miserable. I am lonely during the day, and being alone is a trigger for me. I feel useless and, like you said, worthless. I’m not sitting around watching Jerry Springer and eating HoHos. I’m laying curled up in a ball in bed crying or hiding in the bathroom.
Would you be willing to work from home, or do you need the interaction of a physical workplace? I ask because there is a website called www.flexjobs.com that, for a low subscription fee, gives you legitimate jobs for people with odd work schedules or who want to telecommute. I’ve subscribed and I’m using it as a fallback in case I lose my temp job in March without anything to replace it. It’s worth a shot!
@Happy_Heather you’ve been a big help thank you so much for the advice and info!
Sounds interesting I’ll look into it but I do need the physical interaction
Don’t tell them about your illness. It’s none of their business. By law it’s none of their business. They are not supposed to be asking those kinds of questions.
I would try to find a solitary job.
It seems every job I apply for online asks you if you have a disability. I didn’t think it was any of their business but apparently they can get potential tax breaks from hiring you so they can ask in the application process. But I wouldn’t disclose if not asked and even if then not specifically.
People often ask me why I am not flying anymore and I tell them it’s because I take medication but I don’t tell them for what and I say I can still work.
