The “waiting list” to see the local psychiatrist is nearly 3 months. I’ve been dealing with this for years, but all of a sudden, I just find myself really wanting answers. Why is it so hard for me to be patient?
Are you already diagnosed? What do you need answers about?
No, I just recently admitted I’d been hearing voices, seeing things, etc to my pedetrician. He said I needed to see a psychiatrist, but I’ll have to wait a while to get in. I just want to know if it really is schizophrenia
How old are you? Did your doctor put you on any meds? If you’re having active hallucinations you should be able to be seen sooner. Are you in the US? If so you could go to the ER if it gets bad. They’ll get you set up with an appointment within the week.
I’m 15, and I’m taking meds for anxiety, depression, and insomnia. My dad doesn’t want me on antipsychotics (or med in general), but I’ll probably take them anyway if I get a diagnoses. Yes, I’m in the US, but I know the ER will be way too expensive for my parents
I’m the same way. I just kept calling around to different places until I found one that could get me in quick.
