Starting to think that I don’t have a mental illness.
Blaming the meds all these years for the instability.
Damn meds, destroyed my physical health and messed with my mental health.
First hospitalization was because an AD made me manic.
Recent hospitalizations were caused by Vraylar which made me manic.
Lamictal also made me manic when I was on it.

Well you could talk with your doctor about slowly tapering off and seeing if you improve. But you should only do that with your doctors knowledge. I sometimes think I don’t have an illness, but when I try to go off, I end up worse.

I probably have some form of bipolar but these meds have always made things worse for me.
I’m debating whether I should remain on the Risperdal as well.
I plan on seeing my psychiatrist once every 6 months or so and I’m going to probably leave my therapist.
■■■■■ psychiatry, it destroyed my life.
Have you ever heard voices or had delusions? Maybe you just need a mood stabilizer

Were you ever off meds before? Off an antipsychotic I mean.

I’ve had delusions, potent ones.
But I’m pretty sure the meds have made them worse.

Yes @everhopeful I was off all antipsychotics for years but I was placed on a powerful antidepressant which kept me manic and I became delusional for years.

The delusions could be due to mania I suppose don’t know much about bipolar I would ask your doctor

I became delusional before without any kind of triggering medication on board.
Maybe I’ll remain on the Risperdal but at my current dose of 3mg.

I hate these meds too they’re ■■■■ and wreak all sorts of havoc on my wellbeing but I would go bonkers without them

They never tell you the risks before you start these meds - or at least they didn’t for me anyways

It’s worth having a discussion with your pdoc about it.

I’d recommend talking to your doctor about tapering off so you can see where you’re at. Cause if the meds are making you unstable that’s not good

I think my current doctor is on board.
She is well aware and is usually very careful now not to give me antidepressants or antidepressant type meds.
But from now on absolutely no antidepressant type antipsychotics as well.
Stimulating meds also have a negative effect on me.

Have you tried Lithium? I don’t think it triggers mania.
