I’m going to get a brand new car

When I leave hospital out my disability benefits. I’m entitled because I’m on the highest PIP which means I can lose £250 a month of my benefits and get a car for 3 years. I’m going to get a KIA and my staff can drive me around on uk holidays and go for drives. It’s called mobility in the uk for disabled people to get cars

If you don’t use your car a lot it’s popular here to rent a shared car.

So do they supply the fuel for the private jet the government provides you as well? Or do you have to pay for that on your own?

Come on mate. Why do you save some for your retirement? What you gonna do, when your on the basic pension at 65 and you lose the working age benefits?

Im on enhanced pip too - but i dont waste it.

Your very frivolous with your money.

Maybe buy a two year old car with low miles and save some money. That’s what I did. Cars lose alot of their value when they are slightly used.

Well I’ve heard it all. Where I live there is a rash of stealing KIAS. Insurance companies are beginning to refuse coverage for this brand of cars. They are too easy to break into and steal. It’s a real problem.

I’m happy for you.

However, I do think you need to be more sensitive to others’ feelings. Most of us have very little and are in dire straits financially.

Please consider others’ feelings before bragging about all this money you have and all these amazing trips you get to go on on the government’s dime.

Retirement is my biggest worry I put £100 every week into a private pension.

Yeah I’ve got a few grand put aside from my inheritance. Should get a nice tasty interest payment in a couple of years. And I’m gonna re invest it.

It’s purely, cos I got a fear of getting dementia from the mi. So I should live quite comfortably and be able to pay for carers, for when I’m old and knackered and lost the plot. Lol.

You’re sensible I really need to save and keep check on things.

His care team. Tho it’s more socially acceptable to call them staff over here these days in the UK.

But that makes no sense to me … I wouldn’t call my care team my staff. Feels a bit weird and I’m not really paying them.

I have a certain opinion, about him, but I’m not gonna share it, cos I will get called an arsehole. So I will let him reply himself.

@bobbilly if your staff is going to drive you around, you should get a limousine. A car is nothing fancy…

You can pick up the smaller ones and carry them off.

Both Hyundai and Kia have been trying to provide fixes, but they aren’t going well. They can’t just order immobilizer chips because of the supply chain issues and chip shortages. They have been trying to fix it in software with poor success rates. You can insure them where I live, but the surcharge on certain models will make your hair turn white.

Some might call you a hero.

This makes more sense. I’m not sure I’d want a car if I couldn’t drive it. How do get you transportation now? Can you get transportation when you need or want it? Will it really make that much of a difference to have your own car?

Renting might make more sense if you’re just looking to be driven at holidays. These are just my thoughts.
