I’m disturbing my neighbors

This is my first post but I’ve been reading this forum for a while. I really believe that I’m disturbing my neighbours with my thoughts I hear them shouting about it while I’m thinking out loud. This has been happening since before Xmas. I know thought broadcasting is a symptom and just wondered if any one had advise on how to handle it

If you haven’t talked to a psychiatrist about this, maybe you should at least confide in someone you trust and maybe they can help you.
Avoid advice if they tell you it’s a religious thing, or it’s your fault, or in any way minimize what you are experiencing. This is a medical problem that requires medical attention. Not a moral issue, a punishment, or bad behavior.
Since this has only started recently, you probably remember what things were like when it hadn’t started yet. Try to keep those things in mind. Focusing on what you’re experiencing now isn’t good for you. You are hallucinating and what you are hearing is not real.
I understand how hard it can be to dispel the notion that something real is happening and the resulting discomfort and fear is not valid.
Many individuals with these symptoms can help alleviate or minimize these symptoms with the proper treatment. Keep an open mind and try your best to take medications as directed. Usually negative side-effects will lesson in time as your body starts to tolerate the meds better. If you find that the meds you are taking are troublesome, maybe your doctor can adjust or switch the meds for you.
I wish you the best. If you ask for treatment from a licensed psychiatrist and are open to the idea of whatever treatment he or she prescribes, chances are you will feel significantly better as time goes on and you stabilize on medication.
Hope this helps!

Thanks for replying! I was diagnosed 14 years ago but had a relapse in dec. I take my meds and it helps a lot but it’s the thinking out loud I can’t handle. I’m at my wits end. The shame and guilt when it happens or i see them is unbearable

Maybe you should consult your doctor for a med adjustment or even a switch. It wouldn’t hurt to discuss these problems and you’re already aware that the meds can help.
I know it’s hard right now, but no one can hear your thoughts. Even if you’re talking out aloud or even yelling at times, chances are they aren’t paying any attention or they simply can’t hear you or even make out what you’re saying.
I know how difficult these things are to ignore, I started hearing voices back in 1993 and only fairly recently have the voices quieted down. Even now, when I get too stressed out, I have breakthrough symptoms. But they fade pretty quickly and it’s easier to ignore them when they do break through.
I firmly believe if you take the steps to address the issues with your doctor, you will find a way to stabalize again.
Best wishes @Louise .

One reality check might be helpful in calming your fears a little. If you are hearing them all the time and around the clock, it’s voices. No one would spend that much time persecuting you. Most people are gone during the day to go to work or run errands, do chores, or just do the things that everyone normally does with their time. If your neighbors were actually yelling at you, the other neighbors around would have already complained, especially after dark when they are trying to sleep.
Also, your immediate neighbors have to sleep too. It would literally be impossible for any real person to devote that much time just focusing on you and freaking out.
Even if your neighbors didn’t like you for any reason, not one person would ever devote all of their time just responding to the thoughts you think you are broadcasting. And I will remind you that no one can hear your thought at all.
No one can read your mind. No one can broadcast their own thoughts or insert them into your mind. No one is harassing you.
