I love having things to do

I think my number one problem is not having enough activity on a daily basis. In fact, having nothing-to-do is very stressful. I have been working on finding activity for many years. I don’t understand why I have had this problem but it persists every day. Perhaps it is an aspect of having schizophrenia. Today I found things to do and as a result I feel very good.

I struggle with this too.

I am ok at work as I am forced to do things I wouldn’t do otherwise, which I think is kinda healthy.

In terms of hobbies, I have been working with a psychologist to try and build myself back up again.

I am about to start a board games group on a Thursday night to see how that goes. I am also doing puzzles now I hope, as I got one for Christmas and I enjoyed it so I bought another one. I also just got a new car, so I am cleaning that now.

You just need to try other things. As you can see from the above, it doesn’t have to be major. The psychologist says that it’s better to have lots of smaller things to do so if you fail to do something, it doesn’t have a bit effect on you.

I struggle with having nothing to do too. I never have anything to do except for my weekly mental health meetings but those are boring. When I’m not in a meeting I just watch TV and that gets old fast.

Keep moving. It’s a survival thing I believe in. It’s hard to put a target on your back so keep moving.

Hobbies are good. Find something your interested in that is cheap. I tend to think of something I liked as a kid and try that. Usually it’s way too expensive but I’ll try it out and get things to do with spare time. Work is good but you need some other things to make life better.

Friends/partners/ family. Worth doing things with others. Hobbies will work too if you can find other folk who like what you like and that is pretty easy these days with social media.

I’m always moving. I’m good socially. But I’m still moving.

Have you ever tried sudoku, solitaire, or paint by numbers? They’re free versions on Google play.

My favorite days of the week are days when I have absolutely nothing to do. The thought of doing housework is just overwhelming. I think about doing housework instead of doing it. Just thinking about it is very overwhelming to me.

The days with absolutely nothing to do are my very worst days.

i know exactly what you mean here4you. it’s like a punishment of sitting in the corner looking at the four walls.

i agree – those are the worst of days.
