I like that winter will be soon

We had a very good summer, in July temperatures were over 25 C almost every day, now the temperature is close to 0 C, and the winter will be soon, normally we get snow in the end of October, so I can wear my winter clothing, I just got my new winter shoes, it was just two euros at one flea market. I have a good winter coat, I got it for four euros at another flea market a few years ago. Most of my clothes such as leather jackets etc. are from different flea markets.

I can’t wait for winter either! I’m ready to start decorating for the holidays. I’ve already been stocking up on presents.

I didn’t get them at a flea market, but I got boots and a coat for about 75% off each. I’m very happy with my good deal!

We had a hot summer day today after having some cooler weather. In Michigan, one never knows what the weather will be ! But, I am also looing forward to the brisk cold of winter. Just not too much of it. :slightly_smiling_face:

We’re heading into summer down here in oz. Warming up all the time. I like winter also because temp usually sits around 24*C but we don’t get snow. I would like to see snow one day.

Welcome to Finland, our winter is quite long (November to March/April), in this morning temp was -2 C.

I can never understand what temperature it is there because you don’t use degrees. Perhaps if I wasn’t so lazy I would look it up. I kinda wondered how cold it was there yesterday when you posted that selfie yesterday with you wearing a coat and a hat. It’s still 80 degrees here.

Yeah I’ve heard about the seasons up there with extended daylight during summer and then the darkness during winter. My colleague just travelled to Finland recently and loved it. -2*C sounds bloody cold. Doesn’t generally get in single digits temp wise here even during the night. I would die in that sort of weather.

I can relate. It’s moving into summer over here! I love the heat!

I’ve just packed up all my winter blankets…all two of them, we don’t get below 10 degrees C here much haha!

I love the summer. All that heat and energy!

Enjoy your coolness my friend!

I think it is just a matter of attitude as one person said when I told that I ride my bicycle even when it is -20 C outside. It is just necessary to have good winter clothing. There are many things one can do in winter such as downhill skiing, ice fishing, skating etc. or just to throw snow balls.

-2 C = 28.4 F …

I’m a cold fish. I struggle in when the temperature hits 15C and that is with winter clothing on. Granted though I’m sure your winter clothing is better because you experience such extremes. I think you grow acclimatised to your own weather. I can cope just fine with 35C heat with 95% humidity but that’s what I’m used to. My relatives who come from England really suffer in that kind of heat. If I lived somewhere long enough that was cold I’m sure if get used to it but I’m only being honest when I say no amount of winter clothing would see me riding next to you in -20*C weather if I just flew into Finland. I’d need some serious time to adjust.

I also have no idea why some of that is in italics. I wasn’t trying to emphasise anything. :yum:

I’m not a fan of cold weather, it makes the arthritis in my hands that much more painful. I’m Canadian, however, so I’ll just have to man up and deal with it. (We’ve had large dumps of snow every week for the last three weeks.)

The problem with the dark season (winter) is that it tends to increase depressive thoughts because there is so little sunshine. However by taking vitamin D daily this depression can be prevented. Let’s see how it goes in this winter.

My winter shoes smell. But I’m looking forward to be able to wear my winter coat

I tend to get more depressive in the winter, but it’s not as bad as it was when I lived above the Arctic Circle where there’s almost no sun for two months.

I need to find my good scarf, and the mittens my mother made me. I also have a nice hat made out of white reindeer fur, and I’m looking forward to having an excuse for wearing it

Love snow. I’d like to sit in a house looking out the window in quiet. No one around. Just staring into the snow
