Of 129 individuals with first-episode schizophrenia or schizoaffective disorder, 25% showed stable low IQ, 31% showed stable IQ in the average/high range, and 44% demonstrated intellectual deterioration by 10 points or more.Nov 24, 2009
Really? It felt very apparent and real to me shortly after my medications built up, my psychosis was over and I couldn’t hear my own voice in my head. I had to essentially relearn how to think. Now ideas don’t pop into my head as frequently as they did, thoughts are much less complex.
usually exercises omega 3 acids and reading help to stop deterioration of iq.but as i say before you can not feel it.like usually stupid people they are not aware of their stupidity.
I was born with an imagination without intelligence. In life I gathered intellect but went too far. My mind expanded until it flatlined. Now I know without knowing and cannot understand anything. I will leave the earth as I entered it, an imagination without intellect.
You were correct, I just perceive myself as less intelligent. I did an online IQ test that I did ten years ago and scored 8 points lower than before. They didn’t take my age into consideration so imagine that’s typical.
I guess IQ might not be the correct measurement I am looking for. My thoughts have certainly become less complex since I have been medicated.
I too feel I am less intelligent with less ideas and ability to create something is poor. What I can do is learn from others and learn few things from online or books. But if it gets complex I tend to give up.
IQ is something different, it may be high or low. But, I feel it does not determine the overall intellectual abilities in various different scenarios.
