International Women’s Day is tomorrow. I submitted a playlist to the newsletter at the recovery centre in celebration of it, although it still hasn’t been printed yet. I know I haven’t always been in a good place with them, and it’s a balance for a man to not be a misogynist jerk while still owning his sexuality. The thing is, I think a lot of women as they have been crucial in my mental health recovery journey. What it all comes down to is a lyric from “Peaceful Easy Feeling” by Eagles: “And I found out a long time ago/What a woman can do to your soul”. I’d really like to experience that myself before it’s too late.
I always stick up for the Eagles and think the Big Lebowski brought them down too much.
Don Henley, Glenn Frey… I like that line ‘until we find that bridge across forever’ it’s in Thelma and Louise I think.
Do you deprive yourself though? That was my main problem. Do you have any abundance/resources to spend and invest in yourself?
Firstly, @anon64158233, I must admit I’m not a big Eagles fan, although maybe I’d like to be. As far as depriving myself, for someone on a minimal fixed income, I’m practically rich. It would be nice to take a course in something like existentialist philosophy, just out of general interest. From what I’ve read about it online, it gets a lot of life right.
