I just called Gastro to get some info on my various issues

They didnt tell me why the report was not sent out but he gave me a bunch of info.

First off, the polyps were all benign. So thats good news.

Second, the Endoscopy apparently revealed some things going on. Apparently I have something called Barretts Esophogus. It has something to do with Inflamation of the the Esophogus related to GERD, I think. I’m going to have to looke that up. I have pills im supposed to take for that.

Third, I asked if the excess sulfer gas/burps and if they could be related to the Colonoscopy. He said that it could be because of the gas they put in to expand colon. It could be trapped under folds or something. I asked “even after 4 weeks?” and he said “yes”.

I personally am doubting this is the answer. It seems related to food and eating. But I could be wrong. Plus it doesnt seem like it would cause bloating and vomiting and such. But again, I could be wrong. I am not a doctor.

Anyway, I did not press the issue.

So, I found out quite a bit.

He also I think he said something about stomach coming up to protect the esophogus? I am not really sure what he meant on that. It was a lot of info to take in in a few minute phone call.

You heard the magic word though…benign…so its sorta good news for you.

that could be a hiatal hernia. which is when the stomach pushed up through the cardiac sphencter and into the chest and esophagus.

I’m glad the polyps are benign.

Could the sulfur burps etc be part of the GERD?

I’m not sure. But if they are, that would mean that somehow the endoscopy portion probably made it worse, since it got significantly worse after procedures.

All I’m sure of is my gastro processes are sure messed up now. I just hope its temporary.

It’s temporary and I vomited after the endoscopy and ended up with meds for that to.
