Used an appetite suppressant to lose a bunch of weight 30 lbs(13.6 kg) . Went off of it for about a month and gained 12 lbs(5.4 kgs). Tried using it again my symptoms were pretty bad, started to hear voices.
I don’t do much and Risperidone makes me really hungry. I guess I will just be around 290 lbs(131 kg).
My problem is that I have a fatty liver when I’m around 290 lbs. Risperidone does really help my positive symptoms. I hate being extremely overweight. It is court ordered and the state really thinks I should be on it.
I care I really do, and hate to see you not fight. You are a friend and wish I could help you, but I don’t think I can be of any help…prolly make it worse
I feel what you are going through. I keep gaining 2-3lbs a month and can’t loose weight. I am on invega sustenna injections. I am 198lbs. But it keeps climbing. I tried exercising 2 hours a day walking on the treadmill and I still gained weight. I have given up also.
I hear you. I have no experience with Risperdal, but I gained large amounts of weight on Zyprexa, Geodon, and Abilify and still haven’t lost all of it. i feel like this is just my new normal. I’ve maintained my weight for the past 16 months, problem is, it’s still too high. I stick to Haldol because it’s weight neutral for me.
Im there with you. At first this week i lost 5lbs in 5 days but now its almost back. I walk, cut out sugary drinks and snacks, and eat about 1200 calories a day and im still gaining. Im not going back to walking 9 to 12 miles a day cause i lose motivation eventually so idk what to do. Im on invega sustenna as well
I was the same way on either Clozapine or Zyprexa at different times. Maybe some drug that can help you and not cause weight gain will become affordable over time.
It’s so frustrating. I just want to stop gaining. I think the medication is the problem but I can’t go off it or I will end up in the hospital again.i was on pills before and kept going off them and ending up in the hospital, so that’s why I am on the injection. They won’t trust me with pills now. So basically I’m stuck.
