I have asthma

Yesterday i went to urgent care for shortness of breath cuz my provider thought the QTc prolongation might’ve come back and wanted me to get an EKG. I told them that i couldn’t breathe but that it didn’t feel like QTc. Anyway, the EKG was normal (yay!)…but they listened to my breathing and gave me a breathing treatment. It helped for awhile. Then late last night it got worse again and i had to go to the ER cuz i couldn’t catch my breath. They did another breathing treatment and sent me home with an inhaler and a script for some inhaled corticosteroids.

It sounds crazy, but i was SO happy to get medical care that didn’t involve my brain or heart! I’m not really surprised my lungs are compromised after 30 years of smoking. I’m just waiting for the pharmacy to call and get the meds. I sure hope these inhalers help this feeling that i need to eat air!

A decade ago I was diagnosed with asthma and had a puffer and meds.

Haven’t used either of them in years.

I was a smoker at the time so that didn’t help, but it can get better.:mending_heart:

I smoked for about 30 years myself. I still vape, unfortunately, but I think its a little better anyway.

Sorry for your continued health issues.

I’m sorry to hear about your health scare. I too have a long QT due to being on Geodon for so long. A couple years back I also got diagnosed with exercise induced asthma

Glad they were able to help and good luck with the medication.

I’ve had asthma too. Flare ups in the past. But now nothing for years even though I still vape. I no longer need medication for it.

I had real bad asthma as a kid and was hospitalised with it at one point. It left me when I was nineteen and I haven’t suffered with it for the last twenty-five years. They do say it comes back though.
