I don’t know what I want to say or what I should say. I get so nervous about talking to her. She’s really nice but I still am always worried that I won’t talk about the right things.
I had one of those. They just spent 2 minutes asking basic questions and that was it. I hope your call is more productive!
I hope it goes well for you!
Thanks @everhopeful. My dr usually asks open ended questions and I never know exactly what I should say. I mean the time is short so what’s most important to say? That’s always my dilemma.
Thanks @TheCanuk.
Make a few notes beforehand. Most of the time I take notes to my pdoc appointments.
Well how are you doing? I mean is everything ok? are your meds ok? Do you need any changes? How are your positives and negatives?
I have one in the morning. As long as he renews my scripts I am happy. Not much else to say.
I might ask if they got a new psychologist yet. Haven’t seen one in a while. Chit chat with them.
I agree with @anon18305065 write notes so you don’t forget in the appt.
Good luck you’ll be fine
Try to relax.
Hope it goes well for you @LilyoftheValley.
I do better over the phone than with physical presence. I feel less threatened. You might find this to be true of yourself.
Thanks everyone. I’m going to talk about my persistent paranoia. It just doesn’t go away with meds. Nothing put a dent in it at all. And I can’t take Clozapine so that’s out. I’m afraid to increase my loxapine because of how tired I am when the dose is increased. It takes me months to adjust with loxapine.
Let us know how it went.
Ok @PinCushion.
It went well. She said I’m doing really well because I was open with her about my symptoms. We kept my meds the same.
My advice is try not to think about what you will or should not say, just go on about your day and chat with your psychiatrist. Usually, I just let them talk more. It goes by quick and then I go on about my day. Often right afterwards I spark a cigar.
Glad you had a good appointment. I have mine over phone too.
