I am growing more upset with TV. The commercials all seem to be aggressively pushing for us to buy their products. I don’t like how they reach out and invade my private space and really push in every way they can think of. TV seems to be all about the money.
The TV is one of the few things I have for entertainment. I am not sure what to do.

Maybe you could find popular or unknown streaming platforms and chromecast them on your TV ?

We here in germany have couple channels where they just show in between the program what is coming next or at late evening or the next couple days or next week.
There is zip commercials. And these channels I like the most because of their documentaries.

In my country we have a few channels that are funded by the government without commercials. These are the ones I tend to watch. If I watch from other channels I usually tape it and wiz through the commercials.

You all have been helpful. We also have a channel without commercials. It’s called “Public Broadcasting Station,” in the US. I like that channel.
I have the capability of taping shows but I have never done it yet. I will have to learn. Then I could skip the commercials.
I will need to look into streaming TV shows too.

If you TV isn’t connected to the internet, you can buy a chromecast (or similar) on ebay.

Yeah buy a smart tv and get on Hulu or Netflix
There’s a subreddit I like to visit called commercialsihate.
My TV is connected to my computer by Roku. I will try to figure it out in a few days when I have time.
Actually they are now giving away housing to people for free where I live. The catch is that all the walls in the house has been covered with led-tv screens that show commercials 24-7, except you can put in for a 8 hour break when you are going to sleep.
I guess modern housing will be financed by commercials in the future.

SAME! I hate them so much. And they’ve gotten so weird. The last thing I need is an actor addressing me the viewer directly. Or some absurd manipulation of reality. Not as a schizophrenic.
I don’t watch traditional cable anymore. Just Netflix and Hulu without ads. I’ve even caved and pay for youtube because the ads triggered me so much. Now I skip through “sponsorship” spiels because they’re so close to a commercial that I crawl out of my skin if I can’t fast forward through it.
Idk why I hate them so much. I guess I feel the invasion of space too.
