In a little bar in Sri Lanka, it’s the first time I’ve met anybody from Belarus and I told her the only thing I know about Belarus is that the country suffered greatly in the Chernobyl disaster and many children got typhoid cancer. She told me she had typhoid cancer recently. She told me she was 34. It brings it closer to home. Even in England after the disaster I’m April 1986 the fallout was detected on radiation monitors, I was under 1 years old at the time. Where was you when it happened?

I think that it happened was terrible though.
I was half in my mum and half in my dad.

Belarus was a wild frontier then.
We dont know anyone that suffered from chernobyl tho
