I talked to two psychologists today, and they talked to a doctor.
I now no longer have ‘Simple schizophrenia’, I have ‘paranoid schizophrenia’.
They asked me how I felt about that, I just shrugged. I mean, it’s just a name telling doctors about what symptoms to expect from me shrugs
Feels a bit weird tbh.
So, what is everyone up to today? How are y’all doing?

that’s good they narrowed your illness down. I am okay, feeling kind of bummed. I went to the doctor today to get my injection and I got home and my mother in law was super demanding with where stuff was and I got over whelmed which is really easy for me to do unfortunately .
they left without me I think on purpose
Oh that sucks hugs
I’m sorry to hear that

Not here in Denmark, it seems.
She did reference a spectrum, but she didn’t elaborate

I have heard some doctors still diagnose it, my mother in laws niece got diagnosed with bipolar and schizophrenic tendencies but I asked my doctor about that and he said their is no such diagnosis that its often used as a blanket term until the teen or child gets older
Yes, they told me paranoid sz has a better prognosis, whatever that means

They like to use psychosis a lot here, just my PDOC was shite and give me Paranoid SZ… As a diagnosis whilst causing me bigger MH problems.
My last working diagnosis and I wasn’t presenting as SZ due to the meds, but still hear voices!
I have schizophrenia paranoia too and it does have a better prognosis.
But what does ‘better prognosis’ mean, though?
I mean, a prognosis to get well again, or to have symptoms lessened?

outcome is probably a easier term to use?
It basically means on average we live longer than people with other forms of schizophrenia. Like the catatonic type or the nervosa type.

Sixteen years old, sitting with my parents in the mental hospital, a nurse read my diagnosis: Paranoid schizophrenia. I felt nothing.

I first saw mine when I read my care plan, up to that point it was anxiety related stress then psychosis!
