You can also call a suicide prevention hotline—these are available in the U.S. and in many other countries.
The crisis text line is good for any mental health crisis. They do thought exercises and grounding techniques so you aren’t so focused on your MI and then helo you come up with an activity to do to distract yourself agter you disconnect.
They never have for me. They will ask you if you have plans to kill yourself. But I have always said no, so I dont know what would happen if you said yes.
