I feel bad about my friends moving

My friend and her boyfriend bought a house, and are moving out of their apartment next week. Some guys she knows we’re going to move them, but they came down with Covid.

I suggested a moving company that moved me in October 2021, and told my friend that they charged me like $80 an hour I thought. Well my friend just booked with them this morning, but it was $149.

I don’t know, maybe it’s because they booked at the last minute or just the price has gone up that much. I kinda feel bad because they charged so much, after I recommended them. But anyway…

It’s not your fault. Plus, they didn’t have to go with that company once they found out the price.

Thanks @LilyoftheValley. They have to be out of their apartment by next week or get charged another months rent.

I really don’t remember now if the $80 was per guy, but it probably was. Maybe when my friend told me the $149 it was for more than one guy. I know they charged me $200 for the truck, while they are only charging my friend $155.

When I was in the military we always got moved for free. The last couple of times after I retired I have used Two Men and a Truck. I did all the packing. Just had them move stuff. It wasn’t so bad.

I don’t plan on ever moving again. Maybe when I get old I won’t be able to go upstairs but the master bedroom and bathroom is downstairs.

You’re gonna miss them?

It could be eleventh hour job plus inflation.

Thanks @TomCat @AhmShere They are moving to a house in the same city. They actually will be closer to where I live now. They brought a small, single story ranch house.
