Like a doll. Got to get the blood circulating.
Feeling like a doll or artificial is a sign of apathy, lack of emotions, its caused by sz negative symptoms or by depression.
I’m well aware that the constant thought in my mind is “I don’t care.” I wish I could change that but I’m through leading people on.
Did you try Abilify? It improves both negative symptoms of sz and of depression.
No. I’ve been on olanzapine for years. (Ziprexa)
You can add just 5mg Abilify to your current meds.
That’s what I am doing now, I was only on 25mg Abilify before, it improved my negative symptoms by 40% but I had side effects. Now I am on 3mg Risperdal and will also take 5mg Abilify this week.
5mg Abilify is also used to treat depression.
I feel you. I. Am. A. Robot.
I’m on Lexapro for depression.
You have both sz and depression?
Antidepressants can’t fix negative symptoms of sz, only Abilify can at around 40%.
I don’t know for sure what my diagnosis is now. I haven’t been taking antidepressants for long.
Do you have only depression or have others like bipolar, schizo?
I used to hear voices, now it’s mainly headaches. I should ask my pdoc what my diagnosis is. I have a lot of anxiety.
If you heard voices then you have schizo. So its not the depression I think instead experiencing negative symptoms of schizo.
Examples of psychomotor retardation include the following:
- Unaccountable difficulty in carrying out what are usually considered “automatic” or “mundane” self-care tasks for healthy people (i.e., without depressive illness) such as taking a shower, dressing, self-grooming, cooking, brushing one’s teeth and exercising.
- Physical difficulty performing activities which normally would require little thought or effort such as walking up a flight of stairs, getting out of bed, preparing meals and clearing dishes from the table, household chores or returning phone calls.
- Tasks requiring mobility suddenly (or gradually) and inexplicably seem to be “impossible.” Activities such as shopping, getting groceries, caring for the daily needs of one’s children and meeting the demands of employment or school are commonly affected.
- Activities usually requiring little mental effort can become challenging. Balancing one’s checkbook, making a shopping list or making decisions about mundane tasks (such as deciding what errands need to be done) are often difficult.
In schizophrenia, activity level may vary from psychomotor retardation to agitation; the patient will experience periods of listlessness and may be unresponsive, and at the next moment be active and energetic.
I think psychomotor retardation explains all negative symptoms.
Try to enjoy a little peace in nature. That’s helpful to me.
