I don't understand what is happening to my brain right now

First 2 weeks I’m up because I have to pee all night. Understandable. Also start getting vivid nightmares.

Quit Zoloft. Pee issue improves in 2 days. Insomnia does not. Nightmares give me anxiety at night and I am now unable to sleep because of them for another 2 weeks. I become almost completely nocturnal, staying up until 6 am and sleeping in until 5 pm, some nights not even sleeping at all.

I start geodon. Now this week I suddenly start becoming sleepy extremely early at night. I mean like 6 pm early vs my normal 2-4 am range. I sleep for over 13 hours at a time. Then today I go to sleep at a normal time for me with no issue and wake up only 3 hours later and cannot fall back asleep for no discernible reason.

Seriously what is going on right now?! My sleep has NEVER been THIS unstable for THIS long!!

You may be withdrawing from Zoloft.

oh jeeze! That’s terrible. Sounds like your brain is truly confused. The first thing I would do is start a sleep journal. That way you have it to show your pdoc.

Being bi-polar I’ve had to do these many times to show the docs. It almost always ends in them messing with my meds. They try taking such and such at night instead of morning etc. etc. and almost always ends with a meds change. Just saying you might want to prepare yourself for that.

Good luck Anna!

Hmmm true. I’ve only been off it like 2 weeks?

a lot of med changes for you right now. I think that Geodon will regulate your sleep, give it a time :). No matter what the docs say, the withdrawal from meds is always tough (Zoloft in your case).
I hope you’ll be ok soon dear

Yeah come to think of it when I quit Zoloft last time I had horrendous insomnia for two weeks but I thought it was from quitting Ativan and trazodone that helped me sleep. Maybe Zoloft was the culprit all along cuz this is just like that time!

Thanks for well wishes :rainbow:
