I don't understand Society

WTF is wrong with society? I mean before being diagnosed I was the quiet nerd in the corner and I did what society said for a long time thinking it would grant a perfect utopia or something. Then they be like you are so quiet. Then I begin to speak and then they commence to say I’m weird or something is wrong with me. Then I got diagnosed. I was like maybe society is right. I take my pills like a good girl and then try to find my place in society and even on the SANEST OF MEDICATIONS they still label me some weird nerd on the corner. My outside family even thinks so. I don’t even want to go into what I talk about because I’ll be labeled a nut like last time so I’m keeping my mouth shut on this.

I will say this. I think it’s ■■■■■■■ crazy to have a class that teaches you how to think. Not everyone thinks the same so why the ■■■■ is there is a class for that?

To make a long story short society doesn’t “get” me and I don’t “get” it.

What class teaches you how to think? Psychology, english, biology? Upper class, lower class? Working class?

Yes there are classes that teach you that people think differently. Comparative & World Religion, Philosophy classes, any class about Zen(which is kinda both & neither).

anthropology & sociology too

Hi silent Sunday, I think that you don’t need to fit in to feel good I think if you just be yourself then that is enough that is what I try to do even though I don’t conform to the norms of society( I’m a bit different)

This is what having delusions is being rejected by society.

I feel this way too. The way I see it is society is messed up in a lot of ways, so no need to conform. Seeing quiet people as weird is just one of societies imbalances.

I don’t like how there’s an expectation to be extroverted myself, as if having a complicated and introspective inner experience that makes a person appear quiet is somehow bad.

Society needs more quiet intellectuals because what society values now (extroversion) is usually people acting on impulses and habits which are not thought through from a more wholesome perspective and we have shitty things like wars as a result (which is kind of an extreme example but oh well).

I’m personally in the process of becoming more and more comfortable with being quiet around ‘loud’ people. A habit of mine is acting more extroverted around people who are extroverted in order for them to not get upset as an attempt to take care of them. It feels good and right to be able to just stay true to myself and be introverted while people around me are not, kinda feels like I’m sticking it to society.

Not all of society is like this though, many people find their way as introverts and we need more of these people.

Think it’s easier to see as I’m normal, it’s the rest of the world that’s insane.
