if it is real or if it is in my head. I feel like no one likes me on this website. I feel like everyone on this website hates me. I notice I don’t get very many “likes” for my posts anymore and hardly anyone posts on or likes my threads. I don’t know what to do except to voice my feelings in a thread and see what kind of feedback I get. If my feelings are confirmed, I guess I will have to abandon this website. And that will be sad because I have loved this site and the people on it for many years now.

I doubt it. When people on this website dislike someone, many of them express themselves openly. They would have called you names or verbally attacked you, calling you a"troll" or something

@SkinnyMe Below are your user stats for the past week. Note that the Discourse forum software always displays my user stats along with whichever user I was looking up user stats for.
As you can see, you received more than 3 times as many “Likes” as I did during the past week.
OK, now I’m starting to think that no one likes me on the forum.

Your posts are interesting, I tend to give likes to them.
I give out a lot of likes, and don’t really expect much in return. I don’t want to feel entitled to them, helps with forum addiction.

Hey, sorry about that. Now I feel guilty because you give me so many likes and I should be returning the favor. I seriously doubt that the problem is deliberate. I read a lot of your stuff.
If it helps, I’m a prolific poster but more than half my stuff goes ignored or unnoticed or unliked or just gets one like. I see no reason why anyone would not like you.

That’s the thing about the ‘Like’ button.
It’s designed to feel special. But a virtual like doesn’t really mean much unless we think it does.
It’s like if we don’t get a like then we feel left out or ignored or maybe our post wasn’t clever or funny or interesting. Which may lead you one step further in thinking maybe people hate you. But surely that is not the case.
All because of this omnipotent like button!
