My case manager said I’m one of the nicest people ever and that’s why my father in law and my brother always give me ■■■■. I need to grow a back bone and learn to stand up for myself.

I think you’re definitely a kind, giving person and i also think your in-laws are taking advantage of you. You definitely need to stand up for yourself or it will keep happening.

It’s incredibly hard for me because I don’t like upsetting people. If I talked back to my parents they would scream and scream at me until I backed down.

Yeah i understand that. I don’t like confrontations. Sorry your parents treated you like that. Hopefully you can find a way to get out of your in-laws place and get on your own soon. Hopefully that would take care of a lot of it.

They need help and they know my partner and I are suckers. We gave them an extra 450 two weeks ago now they want another 300. They said it’s just until spring
I can understand wanting to help, especially if you have a giving nature, which you seem to have. But sometimes you have to put your foot down and say no. Otherwise people will take advantage til they bleed you dry.
