I once asked Reddit what a light on my dash meant since im not a car person whatsoever and got ripped to pieces.

This site is full of nice people.
Unfortunately forums typically are filled with overly confident morons who happen to have a PhD. They hate it when I have a few questions and tell me I’m lazy, dumb, and need to go to college.

I have never posted on that forum. But there is an element of truth to needing an education to do physics because it’s not just mathematics, it’s applied mathematics which means it is very heavy on technicalities

Does anyone feel like I’m dumb? They do a good job of making me feel that way.
Everyone online plays a better hand than they have had dealt because they have unlimited resources and time to seem expert unlike in person. You should know its about appearances than abilities.

They seem pretty smart to me. It could be a charade but I’m not sure. They hate explaining things in physics yet they are professionals. I know layman’s physics and love to explain topics I understand to people.

I was in a STEM trade for a few years. Engineers are schooled in physics and use forums, but they are only human. People know what they know and don’t what they don’t.

In some cases, the smarter the physicist, the poorer the social skills. Maybe these are the physicists that are more likely to hang out on internet forums?
They’re nicer to the more educated, but me and other curious people they treat badly.

Just don’t visit that forum anymore.
Go to a local used book and buy a basic high school or college textbook of physics. Just google the edition to make sure it’s scientifically accurate.
Start from the ground up.

I THINK I know a decent amount for a layman, I just need to apply the mathematics. I’ve been studying math in my free time.
