I decided to name the cat living under my front porch

Her name is Penelope. She finally came out from hiding today and is very affectionate again. Something spooked her and I don’t know what. She’s afraid of my neighbors though. If any of them come outside while I’m with her, she runs under the porch and hides.

She showed no fear of my big puppy Brownie tonight when my stepdaughter took her to her moms and Penelope was on the porch. Brownie also paid her no attention even though she meowed. Good sign. Maybe I can bring her in on cold nights in the winter after all.

I’ll keep an eye on the situation over the summer before I decide if I should call the rescue or not in the fall when the weather turns cooler before it’s super cold in the winter. If I can’t bring her in my house by fall, I’ll call the rescue I found out about so she doesn’t freeze to death in the winter. It’s insanely cold in the UP in the winter so she can’t stay under my porch then.

Thanks @Rainstorm  I asked her what her name is, and that was the first name that popped into my head. So Penelope it is!
