I cannot consume caffeine any longer

It makes me bananas. I cussed out neighbors upstairs. I’ve been saying this time I have to quit. Quit. Consequences I don’t feel like going to a ward just to waste psych doc on tele. I’m struggling. Anyone else have caffeine issues?

If I drink too much coffee I get anxious.

I drink less coffee these days since I’m off the clozapine.

If I drink too much caffeine I get anxious. I try to limit my consumption of it to only 3 caffeinated drinks a day. So either 2 coffees and a soda, or one iced coffee and 2 hot ones.

Some people are very sensitive to caffeine though, and if I’m not mistaken I believe medically that caffeine is technically a “psychotic.”

When I don’t drink caffeine I feel calm. It’s tough. I’m just gonna keep trying to quit. Hey monte how you been friend?

Oh I’ve had some rough days but overall doin’ mostly good.

With my pdoc’s approval I got my Loxapine recently lowered a little bit because I was concerned about weight gain. So it’s a weird trade off, more positive symptoms for less fat lol. I’m coping pretty good though.

I’ve also stopped using caffeine. It’s anxiety inducing, but the worst part is that when you rely on it daily, you eventually have a crash every few days where the pills (I use the pills) have no effect; I feel I’m better off just trying to let my body maintain whatever energy it can consistently instead

I quit for a year and my anxiety went, but I decided to drink it again and I have slight anxiety, but I don’t mind.

I try and leave it five hours before I sleep, so caffeine doesn’t affect my sleep. I also eat nutrient rich foods when I have a break to get the nutrients that coffee can inhibit, like vitamin b1 and stuff.

I try in moderation basically, but that’s me.

Although herbal teas don’t have the caffeine boost, some of them can be uplifting and good for mood and anxiety, like for example licorice, peppermint, holy tulsi, cinnamon, chamomille, ginger. Most of them are safe to drink 2-3 cups daily. Only licorice can raise blood pressure though if overconsumed. Maybe give it a go if you haven’t already.

Idk if I ever get anxiety from caffeine. I took 2 x 200mg pills today. Helps me wake up, and keeps me alert. Also great for my workouts.

I would be calmer and handle life better if I didn’t drink it, some days I think maybe I should quit tomorrow, but then I wake up the next day and can’t resist a cup, thinking about the withdrawals I will have to go through, and it doesn’t seem tempting when you’re all tired and foggy.

I’m limiting myself to two regular cups of coffee for the day
The rest are decaf
