It’s 100 degrees and i was outside for maybe 30 minutes building a gate. My heart rate was 127 and i felt light headed. I bet it’s the meds or something.
I can’t handle heat well either, but I think mine is more from my weight. So embarassing!
You may be getting heatstroke from being dehydrated. Drink lots and lots of water and cool down.
I try to do things early early in the am and late late in the evening invega don’t like heat
I actually didn’t know that our meds could cause heat intolerance. I’m going to look mine up now. This forum is so handy; I learn so much.
FIVE!!! At least five of my meds cause heat intolerance! How did I not know this?!
Yeah it’s very important my fam doesn’t believe meds can cause it they think I’m making excuses.
I feel ya. My dad tells me I’ve been up north too long and am turning into a Yankee when I’m manic and talking really quickly. I try to explain it, but the next time we talk, same thing…
I can’t handle excessive heat either. It so annoys me because I was planning on spending a lot of time at the library this summer. But walking in 100+ temps is unbearable.
The antipsychotic medications we take tend to make us more susceptible to hyperthermia in Summer and hypothermia in Winter. If you have to work outside in the heat take it easy and take your time. Drink lots of fluids and keep in mind where the shade is, and if your head starts to pound take a good, long break.
I hope we all have air conditioning and fans and good blankets and clothes and good water to drink and shower in.
Imagine being schizophrenic and homeless and on medication.
Most homeless schizophrenics would be unmedicated.
How horrible to be homeless.
No one should have to be homeless.
Everyone should have an unconditional bed and good roof over head and drink and food and health care.
It’s a right in my belief and stand.
it’s supposed to hit 93F here today. We’re not used to this in Canada.
And a balmy rainy 14c over here today. We had quite a long streak of hot sunny weather tho
Tomorrow it shows 95 F. And was only around 80 and I could not stand it.
How did you manage the 100 @irrelevant ?
I cannot handle the heat either. I get crazy sweaty and hand tremors.
I learned how to say no to doing work when it is too hot.
Yeah, my mom asked me to go for a half an hour walk but I felt was too much in this heat.
It sucks. Its been 100+ for like a week. I try to stay inside in the AC but even the AC is struggling.
Part of my volunteer job is door to door proselytizing for an hour every Saturday morning. Here in my Midwest USA state, that means 100 degree F. heat and I can barely take it with all my meds. I do it anyway.
I got heat exhaustion in Bermuda walking through the Capital city of Hamilton.
Felt physically ill and vomited on the ferry and on the port.
Had to lie down in bed later and apply ice to my head and drank plenty of fluids to keep hydrated
Yes it’s the antipsychotics
They don’t mix well with the heat
The news said that tomorrow
in Greece the heat will reach 46°c
How are you managing with all the fires there in Greece @Om_Sadasiva?
